Brother's Burger

It's lunch time (yeah! had my lunch past 2pm..) I usually bring my packed lunch so i would not spend too much and stay away from those fast food edibles. I was about to have my lunch when one of the colleague invited me to have lunch out, i reluctantly said yes! So there you go, i kept my food untouched!

We went down of the building then walk few steps and found ourselves in Brother's Burger! Yes, Brother's Burger! I instantly recall that last Tuesday, i was dying to eat at Wham Burger but on my way to this Burger chain, another restaurant fooled me (Secret Recipe) so instead of eating my favorite burger to my dismay i had a so so Asian cuisine. That's the main reason i didn't refused my friends offer! Whheeeee excited!

I quickly suggested my friend (Yazz) to try their strawberry milkshake(P100). It's a must try! I had Brother's Burger(P105), Onion rings(P60) and soda(P40). The burger was a bit small for its price but the taste was oh so yummy! I instantly, opened number of ketchup sachets and mayonnaise and grabbed my first bite! And i couldn't just stop! Onion rings were big and crunchy! Good match with warm and tender burger! My friend ordered the same burger and strawberry milkshake! She was not disappointed and enjoyed my suggestion of trying the milk shake.

Overall rating 4 out of 5! The food was great and the price is reasonable but cleanliness was not impressive, there was just like 6 customers but the tables were not clean and the floor was dirty!

CBTL: Toblerone Cheese Cake

Craving for something heavenly??? you dessert fanatics, you don't wanna miss out on this one! Toblerone Cheese Cake, a dessert you definitely wanna miss! I was able to get the chance to taste this heavenly dessert yesterday afternoon. This treat is available at all The Coffee bean and Tea leaf branches for P135/slice. A different kind of cheesecake: the first layer would be the cheese that melts into your mouth, the second layer is a mousse like consistency and the top part of the cake provides texture which is the toblerone and crushed chocolate cookie, i think!

A must try for you dessert fanatics! YUM!

**forgive me about the bad picture, the cake was sliced already and accidentally turned upside down...promise to take better pictures in the future. Laughs!

A so so Secret Recipe..

It was my mom's birthday last January 26 and i wasn't able to buy a present for her days before because i was busy with a lot of things (nah! what an excuse..) But anyway, that afternoon i decided to go out and buy something for my beloved mom. I went to Shangri-la Plaza in Mandaluyong to look for a perfect give that would fit my budget.

Around 5:30 PM when i got there, i quickly moved so i would be able to find that perfect gift for her. So.....after an hour for looking around at Rustan's, exhausted and with feet aching i started to feel that i need to eat. I then, thought of eating at Wham's Burger (i love burgers by the way). But while walking towards the food chain (2nd to the last level of the mall if i'm correct), a restaurant caught my attention and so i changed my mind.
I started looking at their menu outside the restaurant then all of a sudden found myself seating on one of their pretty comfortable couches.

The Secret Recipe, a restaurant which caters to people who has cravings for Asian fusion cuisine. Basically, the interior was very great! Free wi-fi is a plus plus for me!

The menu...there's a wide selection of Asian Fusion Cuisine, cakes and beverages from juices, shakes and coffee. But to my surprise, it is a bit pricey!

Time to dig in..

Mee Gureng, a Malay inspired noodle dish, simple but surprisingly satisfying (P280). My take on their best selling noodle dish as per the waiter, it was just a so so noodle dish, the taste was a bit spicy (a tolerable one!) Serving size was big enough, it has shrimp, squid on it. Mee Gureng is like a yakisoba, so you get what i mean?? The only difference is it has tomato sauce, i think and it's spicy!

I also tried Noodle in Tom Yang Kung (P280), flat rice noodles in our very famous spicy tom yang soup with kung prawns. The soup was great, noodles were cooked perfectly but still spicy. So if you are not a big fan of spicy edibles so go for this one. It has two big prawns in it! Just like any other tom yang soup.

The last but definitely not the least, Watermelon Juice(P90). A freshly squeezed watermelon over ice. Nice treat! I loved it!

Overall damage, P650 without service charge. And my overall rating, 3.5 out of 5. The restaurant is very cozy, a so so taste of the offering and a bit pricey. Next time i wanna try their cakes and coffee concoction.

Happy Birthday Mama!

The Queen of my heart
my shelter from harm,
A woman of grace
she nourishes my soul.

The one who embraces me
she always kept me warm,
My ultimate love
she is my light.

I have become a good man
because of your guidance,
I am where i am now
because you believed in me.

I maybe an imperfect son
but you kept your patience,
I have broken some promises
yet you gave me an open arms.

I wish i can have the world
so i can give it to you
that's how much my gratitude
for you, my lovely mom.

On your special day mama
i may not give you the biggest gifts
but a vow i always say
my love and care for you will stay.

Happy happy birthday Mama, I love you!

Part II: PEARL FARM BEACH RESORT!

Finally, we have arrived to this paradise! Though that time was a windy and a bit drizzling, it didn't ruin the entire day! We were welcome with warm smiles by their staffs handing us with a glass of refreshing juice and hot towel! WOW! Pretty impressive! Then, i was starting to look around and my eyes we wide open. Immediately, i told myself that this is gonna be a wonderful experience. Am i dreaming? NO! This is real, you are in a paradise...

Then one of the staff approached us, "Sir let me carry your bag and let's go to your villa." I just smiled, didn't say a word and kept looking around the entire island! Talking to myself saying, this is world class..this is heaven! While walking towards our villa, still looking around i was impressed of the cleanliness of the entire place and how everything looks flawless.

Once we have reached the villa, all i could say was perfect. The cottage was made out of wood mainly bamboo on its interior and the design was very very good! The cottage stands on the water, there was a glass sliding door that provided me a panoramic view of the pristine water of Samal beach. The rest room was oh so clean and as if it's new, complete with toiletries! I didn't take a lot of pictures that time because i was so too excited that i forgot to take a lot of pictures.

We stayed at Samal house #2 from the left..

Outside the cottage there is a seating area where you can hangout and savour the moment of being in a paradise..

The bed was oh so big!

That time after waking myself up into reality, i ordered right away a club sandwich and fruit shake. The food was delivered to our room after 15mins. So I'm ready to roam around and discover the entire resort! Although there were bikes available, i started walking towards the other side of the resort where Mandaya houses are located (Mandaya house are good for families and a group of 5 people). While walking and following the trail, i was able to see the other Samal houses which were not occupied, really private and quiet, i can also see these tall trees moving as if they were dancing around me. As i was walking, i was greeted with a warm smile by one of their crews saying,"Good afternoon sir, welcome to pearl farm!" I feel like, "Who the hell am i?!" It made me feel am rich! Laughs! Upon reaching the other side of the resort, no one was there! I felt that have the entire beach!

At my back is a Mandaya house..

This is my beach resort, LOL!

Here are some of the pictures, i can't find some of the pictures but i still wanted to share some of the great views in the resort (just have patience looking at my face..laughs!)

After few hours of touring the around the resort, i went back to our cottage and chill. To my surprised i found myself sleeping and it's dinner time. The package that we had already includes all the meals so no worries of ordering and waiting. Their dining area was a huge one, the design was Maranao (i think!) And it's alfresco dining. I a number of people that but still it's not even a crowd. I'm ecstatic again to find out that it was not a buffet style but a five-meal course to fill my appetite! I never ever did expect this.. BON APPETIT!!!

Do i need to say more?! I dont think so...the pictures did the talking! Laughs! It was very yummy and filling.

Perfect vacation: PEARL FARM BEACH RESORT!

PROLOGUE: It's year 2010 already and it is just appropriate to move forward with the a lot of things in my life. But if i will be given a chance to look back and stay with one event in my life, I will always choose this...

Part I

Months before my birthday last 2006, i knew i will be on my very first vacation. I will go out of town and spend 4 days 3 nights in a place i have never been with someone i dearly loveD(past tense..LOL!), i am not so excited but i am looking forward of what was going to happen. It seemed that time had gone by so fast and October 2 was there. After my work, i immediately grabbed my bag and hailed for a cab heading the domestic airport. Oh boy! It was my first time, everything was unfamiliar but i kept my eyes open to these new and exciting encounters.

My flight was 0830 hrs Manila to Davao.

It was my first time to be on a plane, but i enjoyed the entire experience (including the turbulence, laughs!)

PEARL FARM BEACH RESORT here i come...

After an hour and 45 minutes the plane landed at Davao International Airport. The moment i got out of the airport, i smelled a different kind of breeze. Fresh air!
And of course since it was our first time there we took some pictures to capture the moment.

After few more minutes, we looked for a cab to bring us where we can eat since it was lunch time already. We had chicken barbecue and "sinigang na tuna belly!" It was awesome and what surprised me was the price, it was very cheap! It was back then though..laughs!

Upon reaching the Pearl Farm Wharf, a pit stop where we will be transferred by a private ferry to the PEARL FARM BEACH RESORT! We were greeted very warmly at the Marina and the lady confirmed our reservation and she hospitably ushered us to the receiving area and she gave us a tour of the entire Marina. It was pretty impressive!

Here are some of the pictures:

Just before entering the main reception area.

There were lots of trees and it was so relaxing!

Around 1:45pm, we boarded a white ferry. There was just a number of us: the two of us, there was a group which i believed was a family, one foreigner and another couple, a Japanese and a Filipina. Imagine, it was just us who will enjoy this piece of heaven. It was a bumpy boat ride that afternoon, waves were very strong but none the less the 45minute boat ride was worth it. We arrive at the resort!!!

PEARL FARM BEACH RESORT is premiere resort located in the southern part of the Philippines, Samal group of island in Davao City. This 14-hectare resort was once a pearl farm where where thousands of white-lipped oysters transported from the Sulu Sea, were cultivated for their pink, white and gold pearls. Today, it is considered as one of the prime tourist spots in Southern part of the Philippines.

So there, a brief background on the resort.

Let me tell you the rest of the vacation on my next post.

Welcome back!

For the past years, i have been raving to have my own blog. Initially wanting to write about my sentiments, life point of views and make it as my diary but due to some lack of knowledge in blogging and lack of interest and time maybe, i didn't continue being a blogger.

Now, i have more knowledge about blogging maybe because i myself became a reader of all kinds of blogs and with the influence of my "Boss Lester" i am furious now about having my own blog.

I know i am not an expert when it comes to writing and all that kind of stuffs but i hope you will find time to read my postings. I will main be blogging about my travels, will post pictures and tips (although there are only a few). I will be writing some restaurant reviews from the place, food, price and whatnut. I will also try to write a review about the movies i've seen though am not really a film critic. If possible, i hope i will also be able to have the luxury of time to post my previous writings (poems and essays) and all my sentiments which would make you think am a crazy man! (Laughs...) I will write about anything...hhhmmm, this sounds exciting but i know it will also be a tedious task to maintain a blog. Feel free to comment/suggest or correct me if you see something wrong, if you like or have questions about my upcoming posts.

This early, i will ask for your apology if there will be incorrect grammar or wrong sentence construction with my upcoming posts. I'm not being cynical or pessimistic but isn't obvious, i'm nervous about my future critics especially Boss Lester?? 'Coz man he writes like hell! Although he is also just starting to be a certified blogger..follow him 'coz i ain't gonna follow his blog. LOL!

From here on, this is crazykerbs hoping to be a certified blogger. :-)
